about

These Words Have Weight," is the four of us growing as a group and further trying to create an identity that not only connects to our audience but represents each of us individually. We really looked at everything on our EP "Within Reach," and realized what worked and what did not work in the song writing and took those notes and ideas and turned them into this new single. Lyrically driven, the song is very honest and open about understanding accountability in a way that, though I thought I had, I had not before. Musically, we've added more depth in the guitar and bass work as well as focused in on the dual singer approach in a complimentary way between myself (Ryan) and drummer Mike

lyrics

Bloated from all the empty words I swallowed. Stomach wrenching from the lies.

Late night, can't sleep. Got me coughing up every line I wrote. Might be dramatic. I feel the nerves pulling out of me. My eyes are bloodless

A decade under this constant pressure (So I grow but somethings never change). Covering up failed promises with little lies adds us. It's time to settle up.

Take a step back when you're on the edge. Look off to see the ruins you have made with your anemic passion and sense of knowing more than you should.

My tongue's tied up trying to find the words carefully crafted between nouns and verbs. My aching voice mutes to a hush when it comes to apologies.

I spent my life guilty. Accountable for the first time. These words have weight! Is it too late? Too late to change? Or am I destined to be like this forever?

My eyes: bloodless. My hands: unclenched. My grasp: ungrasped. My life.

A decade under this constant pressure (So I grow but somethings never change). Covering up failed promises with little lies adds us. It's time to settle up.

(Somethings are never gonna change. Too much time under all this weight) I spent my life so guilty. Far worse than I've even been. I've been this way for too long, I'm wearing thin.
